About the Blog

This is a running record of the work Jason and Lena are doing to bring a 1978 VW Bus back to life. She was very close to death's door when we bought her.

We now have a functional vacationmobile that we are taking on adventures. So, this blog has morphed into a travelogue sprinkled with our break-down stories and latest upgrades. Hopefully more of the latter!

Look back in the archive for ALL the work we did to get her where she is today.

Enjoy :)

A Family Affair

We got help from Dylan this weekend!
He single handedly  cleaned, prepped and finished the skid plate:

Ta Da!
Jasper models the last throw pillow
The roof liner for the front of the cab is done
Started cleaning and prepping the floor.  There was a hole drilled in the floor at every grey spot.   No wonder there was rust!

Got the seat track height sorted for the new seat

Wheel arch is fitted and tacked in place!  My dad ground down all the spot welds on the floor - that's a lot of spot welds

A whole van from this side!

Should have finished furniture to show y'all soon!
