About the Blog

This is a running record of the work Jason and Lena are doing to bring a 1978 VW Bus back to life. She was very close to death's door when we bought her.

We now have a functional vacationmobile that we are taking on adventures. So, this blog has morphed into a travelogue sprinkled with our break-down stories and latest upgrades. Hopefully more of the latter!

Look back in the archive for ALL the work we did to get her where she is today.

Enjoy :)

Fun with Window Seals....and more!

They keep the noise and wet out, so we love them.

The quarter light windows (front doors) are pretty much done -the short seals came in the wrong length (too short of course) so that must be dealt with but, we soldier on - in spite of taking the darn things apart and together more than I'd like to say.

Quarter-lights after assembly
New seals were found for the louvered windows as well so one has been done.  It seems that a set of seals for louvered windows indicates one, not two windows :~p  More ordering to be done there as well.

Continued from before....the pedals were removed from the floor and re-done (shifter too) stay tuned for for the shift knob we ordered.
