About the Blog

This is a running record of the work Jason and Lena are doing to bring a 1978 VW Bus back to life. She was very close to death's door when we bought her.

We now have a functional vacationmobile that we are taking on adventures. So, this blog has morphed into a travelogue sprinkled with our break-down stories and latest upgrades. Hopefully more of the latter!

Look back in the archive for ALL the work we did to get her where she is today.

Enjoy :)

Kibbles and bits.. and bits..and bits...

Well, no kibbles really but our Pup would like some:

Jasper likes kibbles but would prefer a steak
Here are the bits we have completed this week:
Front dash "before"

With at the bits removed - going nowhere fast!

Park brake, clutch, brake, throttle and shifter

Steering column "before"

 And After
Rear before - someone removed the tire bucket and made up for it by installing some sheet metal over the entire engine bay.

Last, but NOT least, Jason got the tire tray out of the green van (which has been named "Smashy") and ready to go in the vacancy that was in Suzanne.  The hole had been previously covered with sheet metal held in place with silicone sealer (?!?).
Did you know?????
